Dakota Blonde concert

What a busy day! Normally it's my work day, but I decided this week it should be a fun day! We had trouble getting our tushies in motion today though. It was fun though. I managed to get a little bit of work done. We also got a bit of goofing done!

We hung out at the park and fountains with some friends we haven't spent time with in a while. It was nice. In the evening, we met some other friends at a Dakota Blonde concert. I've been wanting to see Dakota Blonde for a long time, and they were really enjoyable to listen to. I'm glad we finally got the chance to see them. It was such a nice evening. This is the kind of evening that keeps me going. We got to relax in the nice weather with good friends and listen to good music. This video is just of the gang enjoying life and the evening.

Here's a video of one song that Dakota Blonde did tonight:

I've noticed that there are very few pictures of me because I am always taking them, and I pretty much have to ask Trey to get pictures with me in them. So, I've taken to snapping pictures with the kids myself. I have a couple of those from tonight plus a couple of other cute ones that I took.

Wouldn't you know that tonight he gets a picture with me in it! LOL.

I am officially "uncool"

Okay, I knew it would happen. I mean, come on. I knew at some point the kids would decide it's better to be with their friends than frumpy, old mom - eventually. Well, it came sooner than I thought! LOL. Tonight I took my daughter and her good friend, Emily, out to dinner and a movie at the Cinema Grill. I was instructed to sit at another table!

I just won't tell them how great it was to sit at my own table - leisurely dine on my movie food - laugh at all the corny jokes in the movie - and BE BY MYSELF - well sorta by myself! LOL. I'll just keep quiet about all that. She did come over and give me a hug right before the movie.

Here's a fun picture we took today:

The Monstrosity is up

The "Olivia Doll House Bed" (no kidding - that's what it's called) is assembled. Man, was that thing a pain in the butt!!! Trey had a good chunk of it done by the time we got home though. We don't have new bedding for it yet, and the twin isn't up on the top yet, but the kids are excited. Here it is:

In this picture you can see just how close we came to having to take the ceiling fan down! Luckily, there is an inch and a half to spare.

Notice the color of the walls and some of the decor. It's like this bed was made for my girls.

We spent seven hours at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and the fountains outside today, and I didn't bring my camera! We went with four other families. It's so nice to connect with our friends. I think the mamas need it as much as the kids sometimes. These are the things that I'll miss when the kidlets go back to school.

I took this video of Trey and Louis a couple of nights ago. I love it.

Last year's SDC trip

I spent this evening downloading old photos onto my computer. I thought I'd post some from our Silver Dollar City trip a year ago. I can't believe how much the kids grew in one year!

And my favorite picture from the trip:

Lovely evening

I can't believe I forgot to bring my camera tonight. Beth Ann, Ray, and Olivia went over to a friend's house for 3 1/2 hours to watch the "Best of Both Worlds" concert in 3D, so Trey and I took advantage of the almost kid free evening. We took Louie and went to Bar Louie for dinner. We sat outside and enjoyed the nice, mild evening. We had Bavarian pretzels. We listened to the music playing over the speakers. We chatted and relaxed. It was so nice. We stayed forever at the restaurant. They were out of veggie burgers which sucked, but I got their hummus, tabouleh, and tzatziki plate which was quite tasty. We were there for a very long time, and it was so nice. Ah, I feel so relaxed now. I just wish I'd have remembered my camera! Oh well, I'll post a few more pictures from our trip to Arkansas.

Stay at home day

We had a stay at home day today. I didn't get nearly as much work done as I had planned, and the kids created havoc, but we're all alive. At the end of today, I'll take it! Here's some cute pictures of Trey vacuuming, and Louis "helping."

The kidlets had a friend over today, and they ended the day with our favorite game - Wii Dance, Dance Revolution. Louis loves to play, too.

Here are a few more pictures from vacation. This first one is of my cousin's beautiful daughter Hailey with the kidlets.

Here is a picture I got of my dad and Ray. Dad took Ray on his very first golfing trip to a real golf course.

Another Wednesday

The kids have been dying to see their friends, so we tried to get together with some of them today. We had one friend over for the day, but we were unsuccessful otherwise. There was apparently a plan in place for today that I didn't know about, so we were unprepared for its possibility. I guess there's always next week. I ended up with a bunch of crabby, disappointed kidlets today.

Here's some more pictures from our trip. My mom signed she and I up for a card making class while we were in Arkansas. We went on Saturday with my cousin. It was so much fun. I can't wait to move back to Arkansas, so I can do this kind of thing with them on a regular basis. It just does my spirit good! Here's some pictures:

Videos of fun stuff we did in Arkansas

Met Grandma and played in one of the fabulous creeks in NW Arkansas:

Played with all the bubble stuff that Me'Me' and Uncle Ed bought:

They spent a lot of time on the slip and slide!

Then, of course, there's always the pool!

I love small towns

Before Trey and I moved to Phoenix, we lived in a tiny town in NW Arkansas called Pea Ridge. It had 1600+ people in it then, now there are well over 2000! Whoa. We went with Lori, Hannah, some of their family to a town fair in Pea Ridge. It's such a great little town. I have to admit that I threw up a little when I drove into town and saw the Sonic, McDonald's, and Subway that had been built! We went to this little town fair that had eight rides. I could let the kids run around because I could see the whole thing! Lori bought the kids arm bands, so they could ride all the rides that they wanted - and they did!
Here's Louis' first solo carnival ride:

Here's Ray and Livi sliding down the big slide:

Here's Beth on the swing ride:

Baby Dylan

I finally got to see my new great nephew Dylan. He's adorable, of course. The kids were very excited to meet him. Louis wanted to continuously hug him, and Dylan was a bit unsure about that! Here he is with his mama, my niece Hannah.

Here's a video of my SIL, Lori, holding Dylan and my brother, Ed, making him laugh.

Dress up

The kidlets had a lot of fun playing dress up at Me'Me' and Pe'Pe's house!

We're home

Well, I've been trying to upload a video to blogger for almost three hours. YouTube is down for maintenance, so apparently I'm not meant to put videos on tonight!!! We're back in Denver, and I'm hopefully going to put some cute videos on tomorrow. We had a long day, and I'm exhausted. We got here safely though, so thank goodness for that. I didn't forget any kids at a rest stop, so that's good, too! Here's the last picture I took before we left.

Pictures from Chuck E. Cheese

Yesterday we took the kidlets to Chuck E. Cheese to play. They had a blast.

Video from Arkansas

Finally some pictures from Arkansas

We brought the laptop into town and we're sitting in the Panera Bread parking lots, so we can upload some pictures!!! These pictures are at Mom and Dad's house and from Silver dollar City.
